The logo dot which serves as a trigger in the promotion system is taken into 3d space here. It is the carrier for all types of information by opening up itself, revealing information, changing the theme focus by altering its layers, shutting off chapters by closing itself - always concluding in its concentrated form at the end: the dot.
An arabic version of Parachute´s PF Square was especially designed for albaghdadia by Panos Vassiliou to match the needs of a consistent type-face in latin and arabic and which also guarantees good readability in small font sizes such as news tickers.

An arabic version of Parachute´s PF Square was especially designed for albaghdadia by Panos Vassiliou to match the needs of a consistent type-face in latin and arabic and which also guarantees good readability in small font sizes such as news tickers.
The main idea is based on a ribbon derived from the logo. All actions are triggered by the logo dot while the ribbon works as the ever-changing, dynamic carrier of information.

Omorfos Kosmos is a morning show on Greek channel Mega. We took a fresh approach towards the concept of a morning show by taking nightly dreams into the reality of the morning.
Therefore the package features surreal, funny and comical elements that complement the topics of the wakeup-call, fashion, music, cooking, horoscope or commentary.

For the news program “heute” (meaning “today”) of the German federal broadcast channel ZDF the studio image, content and narrative style have all been thoroughly re-worked during an almost 3 year process.
That includes classic elements such as the openers, information graphics, weather toolkits and virtual sets as well as a new information room that has been created in virtual reality and walk-in 3d models which can be explained live in the studio by the presenter.
My main part in this process was to optimize and animate all weather pictograms (which were originally designed by agency eden + spiekermann, Berlin), to create the weather opening in the studio background which is created live in the studio; also I designed the keyvisuals/background animations for the weather, sports, Germany and europe sections and brought them to life (please see extra animation below).
The animated weather logo/keyvisual is used in the studio background and title plates of the newly designed weather section of German national broadcaster ZDF. The graphic language is based on the pictograms of the forecast map. All common weather scenarios in Germany are morphed into another and form a loop; so every camera move can show a different part depending on the actual current weather situation.

Background animation for the sports section of German national broadcaster ZDF. Is is intended for the gaps in between the feature stories and was to be made without any real footage, icons or references to specific kinds of sports or logos. The last part is designed as a loop. But nevertheless it should transmit sports dynamics and fit perfectly into the overall news package redesigned by velvet mediendesign - and that´s exactly what it does. The second one is to support the europe section of the news when there is no actual theme yet to feature.

Mega mazi is a format for corporate social responsibility related programmes on Greek tv channel mega which calls to action regarding issues such as environmental care, health and national minorities.
The opener is made in a time-consuming process and is a combination of different collage techniques with stop motion and animation.

TV design for a fictitious shortfilm-channel without using real footage, specific movie contents or metaphors. The dynamic design depends directly on the movies being shown. It is my diploma project and was selected Semifinalist at the Adobe Design Achievement Award 2008.
Numerically ascertainable movie information such as editing pattern, length, genre, colors ... serve as parameters and are translated into specific graphical elements. In doing so the design of the bumpers gives a preview of the movie to come without showing the movie itself. Within a specified scope space, time and object are up to the respective shortfilm.
Furthermore 8 possible feature layers come into consideration. Due to the numerous combination possibilities of the different features and genres every bumper graphic is unique and therefore the viewer will hardly ever see something twice. PION is conceived for digital and increasingly interactive tv and focuses - amongst others - on experimental movies.
